A series of three dimensional collage sculptures, each one carved from a single magazine. Searching for a literal sense of place within the prefabricated ideology of a magazine, Found Landscapes seek to question our visual autonomy within a commoditised global landscape.
In their construction the artist physically tears the magazine pages out to reveal the remaining part as a crudely constructed landscape in its own right. Occupying the space between two dimensional collage and three dimensional sculpture, these ephemeral pieces become objects in themselves, positioning them as showcases of an incomplete story, or a journey never completed.
